When you find out you're pregnant with your first baby you'll quickly realize there is an overwhelming number of different newborn products and styles to choose from. I remember when I was pregnant with Scarlett hearing a million different opinions on what I would need... from wipe warmers to strollers and beyond everybody seemed to know what was best. And as a minimalist who gets stressed by clutter and unnecessary things around my house, boy did I find out very quickly just how little a newborn actually needed. Now with baby number 3 I knew exactly what I wanted and needed to survive the newborn stage! Below are my must haves that I could not live without Along with links to each product! As an Amazon associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Owlet Cam Video Baby Monitor
In 4 years time I have gone through roughly 5 baby monitors. For some reason they just never last in my house! Maybe it's my toddlers dropping them or the fact that I never remembered to keep them charged anyways. So with Everett I decided to splurge and get the Owlet Cam and I love it. No monitor screen for the littles to break and for Mama to remember to charge. I can check on Evie from my phone from anywhere and everywhere. And even at night I can make out every feature of his little face! I've been considering getting a second camera for the girls room! Check it out at amazon using the link below!
SwaddleMe Pod
If you're like me you are no pro swaddler and there's nothing more frustrating than having your babe wake up multiple times a night because he got those little hands free. Although I have multiple different swaddles for Everett that I love the SwaddleMe Pod has to be my favorite for in those first few weeks! There's no noisy Velcro to take off during late night diaper changes and there is a two way zipper so baby's arms can stay nice and swaddled and baby stays warm while you change him. Check it out on Amazon at the link below!
DreamBaby EZY-Fit Clip on Fan
A stroller fan is a summer baby must have! I opted for the DreamBaby Ezy-Fit Clip on Fan. We spend so much time outside and this battery powered fan can clip onto whatever we have baby in to keep him nice and cool. Check it out on Amazon at the link below!
Next up... Goumimitts Mittens!
Newborn fingernails are SHARP and they can't be clipped in those beginning weeks which is why a nice pair of mittens is so important to keep baby from scratching up that sweet face. Normal baby mittens are very easily knocked off which is why I love the Goumimitts, Scratch Free Baby Mittens! They are super comfortable for baby and have a strap around the wrist to keep them nice and secure. They come in so many cute patterns too which is always a plus! Check it them out on Amazon at the link below!
Fischer Price Baby Bouncer
A portable infant seat is a must for our family. I opted for the Fischer Price Baby Bouncer. We move it around between the dining room for mealtimes, outside during play time, and everywhere In between. Since it's portable it can be easily folded and taken on the go too and baby will fit in it for months to come.
Nursing Must Have... Haakaa
Every nursing mom knows that a breast pump is absolutely essential especially if you ever plan on leaving baby for any period of time. I originally got the Haakaa Breast Pump when Madelyn was a baby and I was headed back to work and LOVED it. It's made of food grade silicone and suctions on for a hands free use. I use it primarily as a let down catcher when baby eats and have been able to already stock up a 1 week supply of milk in my freezer thanks to it! It cleans and stores easy and is so easy and quiet to use which is why I will always recommend it to my nursing friends! Check it out on Amazon at the link below!
And Finally... Boppy Lounger!
Another one of my favorites since Madelyn was a newborn and my all time favorite newborn product is the Boppy Newborn Lounger. I bring my Boppy all around the house with me and both Madelyn and Everett love laying in it. It's also great for supervised tummy time and when baby is old enough to hold their own bottles it is great for feedings. You can find so many different covers for it on Amazon like the dinosaur one I have on mine now. It's just so convenient and comfortable for baby which is why I used the Boppy Lounger for Madelyn until she was well over a year old and will probably use it for just as long with Everett.
