If your kids are like mine then their favorite part about coloring is peeling the paper off of their crayons. And if you're like me cleaning up broken crayons and paper off the floor at least a twice a day is not your favorite activity. Cue our new favorite game when all of our crayons are finally bald and broken up... melting them into fun new ones!

All you need to melt your crayons into ones your kids will think are better than they were when you bought them is a silicone mold (ours are kitty cat molds that we had gotten to make chocolates for Scarlett's first birthday), and your oven!

I started by having the girls finish peeling and breaking any crayons that just so happened to survive. Then I had the girls sort the crayons by color and I crushed them up even smaller.

Now for the fun! The girls took the broken crayon pieces and filled their molds. Into the oven at 200 degrees for 15-20 minutes and out came brand new kitty cat crayons for the girls to color with and break all over again! But hey, at least there's no more paper!

Cue the fun and silliness! Also check out these cute activity books we found in the Target dollar section! Every page has a different drawing prompt and the girls have so much fun filling them in!
